About Us
Pennymatters Ltd is directly authorised by the FSA.
The Directors, Keith Penny and Philip Mosedale, have over 45 years experience in the Financial Services arena. Keith as an IFA over the last 23 years and Phil as an IFA for the last 10 years and various account management roles for the previous 12 years.

There are now 9 advisers working alongside Keith and Phil, some with specific specialisation in key areas of advice. The current adviser list is detailed below including their range of services and level of experience.

KEITH PENNY
Keith has operated as an adviser within the financial services industry for over 24 years, after graduating with an Accountancy Degree. He has developed an expertise in building long standing relationships with clients advising on a wide range of financial planning areas in both the corporate, high net worth and domestic market. In this time he has built up an accessible network of other financial planning specialists within his practise allowing him to maintain those relationships. He has achieved advanced qualifications in pre-retirement planning.
Keith has been married for 21 years with three children, aged 20, 18 and 8. In his spare time, as well as enjoying his family, he enjoys keeping fit, rowing, playing squash, a bit of golf and during the summer regularly competes in Triathlons. He also follows Leeds United FC. Keith has also run in numerous half marathons and successfully completed the 2005 New York Marathon.
PHILIP MOSEDALE
Phil has worked within Financial Services since school. Now aged 40 he has a wealth of experience within Financial Services initially administration and then onto Account Management and for the last 12 years as an IFA. Phil has a keen interest in the world of Economics and heads up the panel who decide on funds for our Portfolio’s. Phil believes that common sense is the key to future prosperity. ‘The world is changing. Emerging economies rise whilst the West loses ground. There are no past models to help explain our future anymore and traditional investment strategies are, in my opinion flawed. Never has it been more important to make the right investment decisions’.
Phil is engaged to his long term girlfriend and promises to marry eventually. He enjoys all sports where England are involved (although he says he’s getting bored of the soccer team) and, like everyone else, plays golf whenever he can.
MARTIN O’BRIEN
Martin has been working in Financial Services since leaving school, working for a National Insurance company for 14 years. In 1999 he set up his own business as an IFA. He became a founder member of Pennymatters from inception of the company and is focused on creating and protecting his clients wealth. He advises on all areas of financial planning. Martin’s spare time is taken up with his wife Elaine, 2 children, football coaching and his beloved Queens Park Rangers.
JAMES STOREY
James has been working in Financial Services his whole career, starting at a Lloyds TSB when he was 18. In 2001 he became an IFA for a firm in Berkshire where he became fully qualified in all areas and he has had advisory roles since ranging from high end investment advice to advising on the best mortgages. In January 2011 James became a partner in Pennymatters as he felt that the company approached financial advice in a way that was modern and relevant whilst putting clients at the front of the picture. His clients feel that he takes away the jargon that financial advisers use and puts advice in an understandable and transparent way, something Pennymatters are keen on. James can advise in all areas but specialises in Group Personal Pensions for small to medium size companies. James currently lives in Reading with his partner Donna and his 5 cats. He has just started to play golf and currently plays off a handicap of 57!
JONATHAN HANBURY
Jonathan Hanbury has seen many changes in the financial services industry, and he is pleased to say most were for the good and the benefit of clients. Jon started his career with the Pearl Assurance company as a young man, but soon saw that industrial assurance, as it was called then, was out dated and change was imminent. Jon joined Abbey Life and spent a happy 25 years there building up a large and happy client bank. With further changes in the industry Jon became an IFA with Park Row and then Positive Solutions. He has joined Pennymatters to enable him to continue to offer clients a better service. Jon enjoys skiing and the theatre with his wife and is considering ‘picking up the sticks’ again with the love of golf apparent at Pennymatters.

Mike has been working in Financial Services his whole career, starting at a large national bank where he learnt his trade for 13 years. In 2000 he decided that Independent advice was the way forward and he has remained Independent ever since.
